JILL RUBIO (Adjunct Instructor of Flute) received her Bachelor\'s and Master\'s Degrees in Flute Performance from the University of Southern California, in the studio of Roger S. Stevens. Upon graduation, she was named Outstanding Graduate of the School of Music. Major influences from her studies include James Walker, Mitchell Lurie, Toshio Takahashi and Michel Debost. Ms. Rubio is an active performer: a member of the Orchestra of Northern New York, Northern Symphonic Winds, the trio Sweet, Fair & Wise, and as a soloist and chamber musician in many various combinations. Along with her duties at Crane, Ms. Rubio is the band director at A. A. Kingston Middle School in Potsdam, conducting 2 bands, a jazz ensemble, and lessons to approximately 150 students on all instruments. She is on the executive board of the New York State Band Directors Association, and is flute editor for the New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) Manual, and is an All-State Adjudicator.
