Paul Scatenato taught vocal and choral music for twenty-seven years in the Kingston City Schools, becoming district music chair in 2001. During his tenure as department chair, the Kingston Music Department received the New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) Presidential Citation for their comprehensive curriculum, outstanding performing ensembles and involvement in the arts life of the community. He conducted the Kingston High School Choir from 1993-2005 performing concert tours and festivals in Toronto and Kingston, Ontario, Montreal, Washington D.C., and Florida. The group received top ratings at NYSSMA Major adjudications and National Festivals. Paul received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Music Education from Hofstra University, a Masters in Music Education from the College of St. Rose, and a Certificate of Advanced Study in Educational Administration from SUNY New Paltz. He served as the Director of Fine and Performing Arts for the Hyde Park Central Schools from 2006-2014. Paul is a past President of the Ulster County Music Educators Association and remains an active member of NYSSMA as a vocal adjudicator. He directs the Mendelssohn Club of Kingston, a 50-voice community choral group. Currently, Paul is the Supervisor of Student Teachers for the Hudson Valley Region. He resides in Kingston, NY with his wife Paula.
