Tammara Madeja has been the choral director at Potsdam High School since 1992. Her ensembles have received consistently high honors at the New York State School Music Association Major Organization Contest including several Level 6 Gold with Distinction awards. Potsdam High School's select chorus, Canta Sera Chamber Singers, was invited to sing for the New York conference of the American Choral Directors Association in October 2011. Additionally, Potsdam High School choral ensembles have performed for the New York State School Boards Convention and the New York Board of Regents. Mrs. Madeja currently serves as the Assistant Choral Chairperson for the New York State School Music Association. She served as the Zone 5 representative to NYSSMA from 2004-2010, NYSSMA voice chair from 2010-2012 and is a certified All-State vocal solo adjudicator. Mrs. Madeja has presented clinics at regional and state music conferences. She received her B.S. and M.S. degrees in music education from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Mrs. Madeja is a frequent soloist and has performed lead roles with the Illinois Opera Theater and was a finalist in the Chicago Bel Canto Opera Competition.
