Jonathan Stinson, baritone, has appeared with opera companies throughout the country, including Cincinnati Opera, Lyric Opera of Kansas City, Kentucky Opera, Opera Omaha, Opera Memphis, Dayton Opera, Cleveland Opera, Central City Opera, Ohio Light Opera, and Opera New Jersey. Mr. Stinson made his international debut in Cortona, Italy in 2010, singing the title role of Mozart's Don Giovanni. Recent favorite roles include both Marcello and Schaunard in La bohème, Conte Almaviva in Le nozze di Figaro, Guglielmo in Così fan tutte, Sid in Benjamin Britten's Albert Herring, and the title roles of Gianni Schicchi, Eugene Onegin, and Don Giovanni. Mr. Stinson recently sang Joseph de Rocher in Dead Man Walking for Boston Opera Collaborative and returned to Cincinnati Opera to sing three roles in Philip Glass's opera Galileo Galilei.

Mr. Stinson has appeared as a soloist with Kentucky Symphony, Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra, the Carmel Bach Festival (CA), Lafayette Symphony (IN) Liberty Symphony (MO), and Battle Creek Symphony (MI). Recent solo work has included the Requiems of Faure, Mozart, and Duruflé, the complete Bach Christmas Oratorio, and L'enfance du Christ (Berlioz). Mr. Stinson was a Regional Finalist in the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions and a Finalist in the Orpheus National Voice Competition.

A huge advocate for new music, particularly new opera and art song, Mr. Stinson is also a prolific composer. He has composed six song cycles, as well as two one-act operas for young audiences. His operas have been performed by Atlanta Opera, Opera Memphis, Chicago Opera Playhouse, and University of Missouri-Kansas City.

Mr. Stinson has taught on the faculties of Northern Kentucky University, Xavier University, College of Mount Saint Joseph, and Baldwin-Wallace Conservatory, and was recently invited by Ohio Northern University to give a guest recital and masterclass.

A graduate of Oberlin Conservatory and Indiana University, Mr. Stinson is in the final stages of completing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Voice at the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music.
